We would like to inform you that as of June 1, 2018, the company Hitachi Koki Co., Ltd. has changed its name to Koki Holdings Co., Ltd. This change is accompanied by the introduction of a completely rebranded line of power tools under the name HiKOKI, which was previously marketed under the names HITACHI and Hitachi Koki. The new HiKOKI power tool line will be available starting October 1, 2018.

Details of the transition

The company name change reflects a new and ambitious international growth strategy aimed at securing sustainable global development for Hitachi Koki in nearly 100 countries worldwide. The change from Hitachi Koki Co., Ltd. to Koki Holdings Co., Ltd. also involves the establishment of a subsidiary named Koki Holdings Europe GmbH, based in the suburbs of Düsseldorf, Germany. This subsidiary is responsible for implementing the strategy within the European market. It began operations in November 2017 and supports the activities of affiliate companies across Europe, with the goal of aligning more closely with customer expectations and enabling faster responses to their needs.

The HiKOKI brand (pronounced “hai-koh-key”) was created based on three core principles that guide the company: technological innovation for improved performance, reliability developed over 70 years of manufacturing, and new market development potential through a strategic partnership with KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts), one of the largest private equity firms in the world. The rebranded HiKOKI power tools will be launched on the market starting October 1, 2018.
